The Clematis (Clematis terniflora) is a climbing deciduous plant that produces white flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from September to October. The Clematis also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres and grows to around 1 metre wide. The Clematis makes no special demands on the soil.

Growth

Clematis is a climbing plant that grows like a vine and can reach a height of 8 - 10 m and a width of 0.5 - 1 m.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Clematis are medium green, pinnate, with entire margins. They are about 5 - 7 cm in size.

Flower

The white flowers of Clematis appear in panicles from September to October. They are pleasantly fragrant.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Frost hardiness

The Clematis has good frost hardiness.

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
- Watering less frequently, but thoroughly and thoroughly, encourages the plant roots to penetrate deeper into the soil. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.
