The White willow 'Tristis' (Salix alba) is a hanging, picturesque tree that produces yellow flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from April to May. These produce white fruits. The White willow 'Tristis' also bears hairy, lanceolate, medium green leaves. The yellow-green shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is grey and deeply fissured. In a sunny to semi-shady location with calcareous, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 20 metres.
