The Skimmia 'Rubella' (Skimmia japonica) is a bushy, compact small shrub that produces red flowers arranged in panicles with a strong fragrance. They appear from April to May. The Skimmia 'Rubella' also has leathery, lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1 m and grows to around 1.5 m wide.

Skimmia 'Rubella' is a bushy and compact small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.6 - 1 m and is approx. 0.6 - 1.5 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 10 - 20 cm per year.
