The Crab apple 'Red Sentinel' (Malus x moerlandsii) is a loose, slender, large shrub with decorative, red, round fruits that stay on for a very long time. These are small. It produces white, cup-shaped flowers from May to June. The Crab apple 'Red Sentinel' also has egg-shaped, lanceolate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and grows to a width of around 3.5 metres.

The red, round fruits of Malus x moerlandsii 'Red Sentinel' are particularly decorative. These appear from September and are small. Adhere for a very long time.

Root

Malus x moerlandsii 'Red Sentinel' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms extensive branching roots.
