The Crab apple 'Professor Sprenger' (Malus x zumi) is a large conical shrub with decorative, orange-red, round fruits. These are small. It produces white, cup-shaped flowers from May to June. The Crab apple 'Professor Sprenger' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to a width of around 4 metres.
