With its dark green leaf colouring and yellow-green stems, Bamboo 'Aureocaulis' (Phyllostachys vivax) is a decorative design element in the garden. The special thing about it, apart from its overhanging form, is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers sunny, sheltered locations with well-drained, humus-rich soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 10 m and grows up to 6 m wide.

Bamboo 'Aureocaulis' is an overhanging large shrub that can reach a height of 5 - 10 m and a width of 4 - 6 m. Rapidly growing.

Bamboo 'Aureocaulis' is characterised by its yellow-green stems.

The evergreen leaves of the Bamboo 'Aureocaulis's are dark green, lanceolate. These are about 10 - 16 cm in size.
