The Burkwood osmanthus (Osmanthus burkwoodii) is a bushy, broad, large shrub that produces white flowers with a strong fragrance. They appear from April to May. The Burkwood osmanthus also has glossy, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.

The evergreen leaves of Burkwood osmanthus are dark green, ovate, glossy, opposite. They are about 2 - 4 cm in size.

Flower

The white flowers appear from April to May. They are strongly scented.

Osmanthus burkwoodii is a heartroot.

Location

Preferred location in semi-shady to shady, wind-protected position.

Frost hardiness

Winter protection is advisable in unprotected areas of the garden.

Care
