The Silk tree (Albizia julibrissin) is a roundish garden plant that produces pink-coloured flowers with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from June to August. The Silk tree also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to around 6 metres wide.

Growth

The Silk Tree has a rounded growth habit. It typically grows 30–40 cm per year.

Leaves

The summer-green leaves of the Silk Tree are medium green and feathery. In autumn, the foliage turns a bright yellow-green.

Flowers

The pink flowers appear from June to August and are pleasantly fragrant.

Location

Preferred location in sunny, wind-protected areas.

Frost Resistance

The Silk Tree has good frost resistance.
