The Plum 'Spire' (Prunus hillieri) is a columnar, tight small tree that produces pink-coloured, cup-shaped flowers. They appear in April. The Plum 'Spire' also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 8 metres and grows to a width of around 3 metres.
