Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo'

Oregon grape 'Apollo' is a bushy and densely growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.6 - 1 m and is approx. 0.6 - 1 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 5 - 15 cm per year.

The evergreen leaves of the Oregon grape 'Apollo' are dark green, pinnate, glossy, alternate, toothed. They are about 2 - 3 cm in size. Bronze-coloured shoots. With its dark red foliage, it sets beautiful accents in winter.

The yellow flowers of Oregon grape 'Apollo' appear in clusters from April to May. They are pleasantly fragrant.

The oval fruits of Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo' are particularly decorative. These appear from July.

Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Oregon grape 'Apollo' has good frost hardiness.
