The Mock orange (Philadelphus inodorus grandiflorus) is an upright, loose, picturesque large shrub that produces white flowers arranged in clusters. They appear from June to July. The Mock orange also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is brown and flaking. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 4 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.

Mock orange is an upright, loosely growing, picturesque large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m and is approx. 2 - 3 m wide. It usually grows 20 - 40 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Mock oranges are dark green, ovate, opposite and serrated. They are about 5 - 11 cm in size. Mock orange turns bright yellow in autumn.

Bark

Brown, flaking bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The white flowers of Mock orange appear in clusters from June to July. These grow to about 4 - 5 cm in size.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
