The Tara vine 'Weiki'® (Actinidia arguta) produces light green, small, medium-firm fruits. They are oval and have a sweet and sour flavour. Well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, nutrient-rich soil and a sunny location create the ideal conditions for a high-yielding harvest from August. Its white flowers are a beautiful sight. With its climbing habit, the Tara vine 'Weiki'® grows to around 7 m high and 2.5 m wide.

Growth

Climbing. Typically grows 0.6 - 1.5 meters per year.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Minikiwi 'Weiki'® are dark green, ovate, alternate, and serrated. They are about 8 - 12 cm in size. Minikiwi 'Weiki'® turns bright yellow in the autumn.

Flowers

Actinidia arguta 'Weiki'® produces bowl-shaped, white flowers arranged in clusters starting in June.

Fruit

The light green, small berries have a sweet-tart flavor. The green flesh of these oval berries is moderately firm; the skin is smooth. Harvest time begins in August.

Location

Watering

The plant requires plenty of water. Do not allow the soil to dry out.

Care

- Fruit shrubs planted in spring should be watered generously throughout the summer. Well-established plants only need extra watering during extreme drought.
- Cut back frozen shoots to healthy wood once frost damage occurs.

Planting Time

Container plants can be planted year-round, except when the ground is frozen or during summer heat (over 30°C).
