The Bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) is an herbaceous plant with an aromatic flavour. Its dark green leaves are lanceolate. A sunny location and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil are required for optimum growth of the Bay laurel.

Care

- As soon as temperatures no longer fall below 5°C, even at night, this plant can also be taken outside. A shower with lukewarm water will remove dust and revitalise your favourite. A semi-shady spot out of direct sunlight is best to prevent leaf damage. If necessary, the plant can also be repotted outdoors in spring, which saves cleaning work indoors.
- Over time, the soil loses some of its important properties. The plants should therefore be transplanted into a larger pot with fresh container plant soil every two years in spring.

Good planting partners: rosemary, lemon verbena.

Planting time

Planting: Spring to summer.

Tasks

Harvest: In the period from January to December.
