Wellness in your own garden - Creating oases

Feeling good in the garden is considered normal. But wellness means even more. The clever selection of plants, water, and some other elements makes all the difference.

Points for relaxation and pleasant activities

Owning a garden is a wonderful privilege. Walking through this green realm provides room to breathe. You involuntarily stop and feel how good it is to be among plants. Often, their enchanting scent alone provides wellness in the garden. A natural area does this just as well as a cultivated one. It's important to accept how much desire you have for self-gardening. Do you genuinely enjoy digging in the dirt and relieve stress by pulling weeds, or are you the connoisseur type who understands wellness in the garden more as peace and relaxation? The garden should be designed accordingly. In any case, wellness in the garden means a mix of deceleration and pleasant activities, each in its own time. Those who don't particularly appreciate gardening activities still treat their plant companions with love; tedious tasks like mowing and weeding can be delegated. Wellness in the garden is also a result of mindfulness towards oneself and nature.

Relaxing among scents and water sources

Wellness in the garden strengthens all the senses. Exceptionally impressive blooms, like those of large-flowered dahlias or an extravagant eryngium, delight the eye. A skilled gardener ensures that something is always in bloom from spring to winter. For the cold season, nature has provided contributions like the magnificent fragrant viburnum and year-round greenery like boxwood. Wellness in the garden is enhanced by scents. How wonderful it is to bury your nose deep in mint or lavender blossoms and rub the flowers between your fingers! Many aromatic herbs also serve as kitchen ingredients. Fragrant roses always create wellness in the garden! A barefoot path activates the sense of touch. Even two meters with different materials like bark mulch and pebbles provide an intense "aha" experience. Relaxation in the sense of devoted chilling is promoted by a pleasant retreat. A small pavilion made of wood or fabric, under a serviceberry tree or overgrown with ivy, is one possibility; a corner with comfortable lounge furniture, shielded by a hornbeam hedge, is another. Always add a suitable light source! Those who like Japanese gardens have already ensured wellness in their garden. The special atmosphere among exotics like Japanese maple, lanterns or animal figures made of stone, and an artfully arranged spring leads into another world. Bamboo creates a green boundary.

Fun and games are part of it

Water isn't just for Japanese gardens if you want to promote wellness in the garden. Whether it's a rustic version where cool water flows into a trough, or a romantically babbling brook, it brings movement into the interplay of natural forces. A pond is certainly also an option, with seating nearby to allow an unobstructed view of frogs and dragonflies. For health enthusiasts, investing in a Kneipp basin is worthwhile; for children and adults alike, combining wellness in the garden with sporting activity is a welcome change. A lawn is enough to play ball, boules, or badminton. When using a frisbee, even the family dog gets moving. However, the green space should be well-maintained; it will then need water and fertilizer. The popular table tennis table will certainly find a spot for a friendly duel. For wellness in the garden, you can stretch not only a hammock but also a slackline between the branches of two trees. After so much activity, a place for physical well-being shouldn't be missing. To complete wellness in the garden, you need a good old charcoal grill or an outdoor kitchen – entirely your choice. Because wellness in the garden doesn't depend on the size of the green paradise, but on the composition of its elements. Just start!
