The Climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea petiolaris) is a climbing deciduous plant that produces white flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from June to July. The Climbing hydrangea also has shiny, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loose, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 12 metres and is approx. 4 metres wide.

Climbing hydrangea is a climbing plant that can reach a height of 10 - 12 metres and a width of 3 - 4 metres. It usually grows 0.8 - 1 m per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Climbing hydrangea are dark green, ovate, glossy and opposite. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Climbing hydrangea turns bright yellow in autumn.

Bark

Red-brown bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The white flowers of Climbing hydrangea appear in panicles from June to July. They are pleasantly fragrant.

Root

Hydrangea petiolaris is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots close to the surface.
