The Chinese juniper 'Meyer' (Juniperus communis) is a large shrub that grows broad, columnar and usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and a width of around 1.5 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves are blue-green in colour. Decorative black cones adorn Juniperus communis 'Meyer' from September. This shrub is well tolerant of frost and prefers well-drained soil in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Chinese juniper 'Meyer' is a large shrub that grows broad and columnar. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 5 m and is approx. 1 - 1.5 m wide.

Leaves

The Chinese juniper 'Meyer' is evergreen. Its needles are blue-green, prickly.

Bark

Grey, striped, torn bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Fruit

The black cones of Juniperus communis 'Meyer' are particularly decorative. These appear from September.
