The Cross-leaved heath 'Con Underwood' (Erica tetralix) will brighten up any garden with its countless magenta bell-shaped flowers. From mid-July, it is ready to delight in flowerbeds, as well as in containers on balconies or terraces. The needle-shaped, grey-green leaves are also a beautiful sight.

Growth

Cross-leaved heath 'Con Underwood' is a bushy, upright and densely growing dwarf shrub that can reach a height of 20 - 25 cm and a width of 20 - 30 cm.

The evergreen leaves of the Cross-leaved heath 'Con Underwood' are grey-green, needle-shaped, whorled.

Flower

The magenta-coloured, bell-shaped flowers of the Cross-leaved heath 'Con Underwood' appear in umbels from mid-July to early October. They are pleasantly fragrant.

Root

Erica tetralix 'Con Underwood' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Care

- The faded inflorescences should be cut back. This measure promotes new growth.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
