The Red maple 'Redpointe'® (Acer rubrum) is a broad, pyramidal small tree that produces red flowers arranged in umbrella clusters. They appear from March to April. The Red maple 'Redpointe'® also has shiny, palmate, dark green leaves. Its bark is silver-grey. In a sunny location with lime-free, nutrient-rich, moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 15 metres and grows to a width of approx. 10 metres.

Red maple 'Redpointe'® is a small tree that grows broadly and pyramidally with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 15 m and is approx. 8 - 10 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 30 - 40 cm per year.

Shoots

The shoots of Acer rubrum 'Redpointe'® are red-brown in colour.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Red maple 'Redpointe'®s are dark green, palmate, glossy, opposite, lobed. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Red maple 'Redpointe'® turns bright red in autumn.

Bark

Silver-grey bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The red flowers of Red maple 'Redpointe'® appear in umbrella clusters from March to April.

Root

Acer rubrum 'Redpointe'® is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.
