The Sycamore 'Atropurpureum' (Acer pseudoplatanus) is an ovoid, picturesque, deciduous large tree with decorative, two-coloured leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears greenish-yellow flowers arranged in clusters from May to June. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 25 metres and grows to a width of around 18 metres.

High leaf ornamental value. The deciduous leaves of the Sycamore 'Atropurpureum's are bicoloured, opposite, lobed. Bronze-coloured shoots.

Bark

Silver-grey, scaly bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The greenish-yellow flowers of the Sycamore 'Atropurpureum' appear in clusters from May to June.

Acer pseudoplatanus 'Atropurpureum' is a heartroot.
