The Norway maple 'Fairview' (Acer platanoides) is a dense, roundish large tree that produces greenish-yellow flowers arranged in umbels. They appear in April. These produce brown winged fruits. The Norway maple 'Fairview' also has medium green leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is dark grey and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 10 metres. The Norway maple 'Fairview' makes no special demands on the soil.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Norway maple 'Fairview's are medium green, opposite, toothed, lobed. They are about 15 - 20 cm tall. Bronze-coloured shoots. Norway maple 'Fairview' turns a bright golden yellow to orange-yellow in autumn.

Bark

Dark grey, longitudinally furrowed bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The greenish-yellow flowers of Norway maple 'Fairview' appear in corymbs in April.

Root

Acer platanoides 'Fairview' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
