The Trident maple (Acer buergerianum) is an upright, loose large shrub or small tree that produces yellow flowers arranged in panicles. They appear in May. These produce brown winged fruits. The Trident maple also has dark green leaves. The copper-brown shoots are also an interesting sight. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres and is around 6 metres wide.
