With its medium green leaf colouring, Switch grass 'Rehbraun' (Panicum virgatum) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also adorns pots on balconies or terraces thanks to its funnel-shaped, clump-forming growth. The brown panicles of flowers adorn this grass from summer onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny location with a well-drained, humus-rich, loose soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and grows up to 60 cm wide.

Cluster-forming, funnel-shaped.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Switch grass 'Rehbraun' are medium green, linear. Switch grass 'Rehbraun' turns bright copper-brown in autumn.

Flower

The brown flowers of Switch grass 'Rehbraun' appear in panicles from July to September.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.
