With its dark green leaf colouring, Greater pond sedge (Carex riparia) is a decorative design element in the garden, but its upright growth also adorns containers on balconies or terraces. The green flower fronds adorn this grass from spring onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny to semi-shady location with loose, well-drained soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows up to 1 m wide.
