The Giant onion (Allium giganteum) produces attractive, purple flowers from May to July. It prefers a well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny position. The upright plant usually reaches a height of 1 - 1.5 m and grows up to 30 cm wide.
