The Eastern hemlock 'Nana' (Tsuga canadensis) is a small shrub that grows compact and rounded and usually reaches a height of around 1 metre and a width of around 2 metres. Its needle-shaped, glossy leaves are dark green in colour. Decorative brown cones adorn Tsuga canadensis 'Nana' from September. This shrub tolerates frost well. It prefers well-drained, lime-free, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected position.

Eastern hemlock 'Nana' is a compact and rounded small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.8 - 1 m and is approx. 1.5 - 2 m wide. Slow growing. It usually grows 2 - 3 cm per year.
