The Bird's foot sedge 'Variegata' (Carex ornithopoda) is a decorative design element in the garden with its colourful white leaves, which also stands out with its upright growth. The yellow-green flower plumes adorn this grass from spring onwards. It feels most at home in a semi-shady location with loose, well-drained soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 25 cm and grows up to 30 cm wide.

Growth

Upright. It usually grows 15 - 20 cm per year.

Leaves

The wintergreen leaves of the Bird's foot sedge 'Variegata' are white coloured.

Flower

The yellow-green flowers appear from April to June.

Location

Preferred location in partial shade.
