The Shrubby cinquefoil (Potentilla fruticosa) is a bushy, broad small shrub that produces yellow, cup-shaped flowers. They appear from June to October. The Shrubby cinquefoil also has fingered, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.5 metres.

Growth

Shrubby cinquefoil is a bushy and broad-growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1.2 - 1.5 m and is approx. 1 - 1.5 m wide. It usually grows 10 - 40 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Shrubby cinquefoils are dark green, fingered. They are about 1 - 3 cm in size. Shrubby cinquefoil turns bright bronze in autumn.

Flower

The yellow, cup-shaped flowers appear from June to October.

Root

Potentilla fruticosa is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Care
