Field Maple 'Elegant' is an ovoid growing large shrub or small tree. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 15 m and is approx. 3 - 5 m wide. It usually grows 40 - 50 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Field Maple 'Elegant's are medium green, lobed. They are about 5 - 10 cm in size. Field Maple 'Elegant' turns bright yellow-orange in autumn.

Acer campestre 'Elegant' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Field Maple 'Elegant' has good frost hardiness.

Normal soil.

Solitary, privacy screen, hedge (pruning)

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Cut and saw wounds as well as broken branches should be treated with a wound dressing as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.

This plant is tolerant of pruning.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
