The Black bamboo 'Boryana' (Phyllostachys nigra) with its medium green leaf colouring and green-brown stems is a decorative design element in the garden, which with its upright growth can be used particularly well as a single plant. Sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected locations with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil are preferred. Under favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 6 m and grows up to 2.5 m wide.
