The Alpenrose (Rhododendron ferrugineum) produces a veritable sea of purple-red flowers from the beginning of June to mid-June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This upright, broad, dense, compact growing shrub usually reaches a height of 60 - 80 cm and a width of 0.8 to 1 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and a humus-rich, lime-free, slightly acidic soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Alpenrose is well tolerant of frost.

- Cut back frozen shoots to the healthy wood as soon as there is no longer any danger of frost.

Pruning

No pruning is necessary for this plant.
