The Rhododendron (Rhododendron degronianum) produces a veritable sea of light pink flowers from the end of April to the beginning of May. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This upright, compact, spherical growing shrub usually reaches a height of 0.8 - 1 m and a width of 1.2 to 1.5 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and humus-rich, lime-free, acidic, slightly acidic soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Rhododendron is well tolerant of frost.
