The Rose (Rosa rugotida) is an upright, tight small shrub that produces pink-coloured, cup-shaped flowers. They appear from June to July. The Rose also has shiny, pinnate, dark green leaves. In a sunny location, it usually reaches a height of around 1 metre and grows to around 1 metre wide. The Rose makes no particular demands on the soil.

Growth

Rose is an upright and tightly growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.8 - 1 m and is approx. 0.8 - 1 m wide.

Shoots

The shoots of Rosa rugotida are spiny, tomentose, grey.

The deciduous leaves of Rose are dark green, pinnate, glossy, alternate. They are about 9 - 10 cm in size. Rose turns bright orange-yellow in autumn.

Flower

The pink-coloured, cupped flowers appear from June to July.

Root

Rosa rugotida is a deep-rooter and, depending on the soil, forms runner-forming roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Rose has good frost hardiness.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Care

- Parts of the plant infected with mildew must be cut off, otherwise the disease can spread further. To prevent new infections, the rose can be treated with appropriate fungicides.
- If infected with star sooty mould, all diseased leaves (black spots) should be removed. If necessary, treatment with suitable fungicides is also recommended.
- To encourage the formation of new flower buds, wilted flowers should always be cut back to the next fully formed leaf.
- Roses should never be planted where roses have already been growing. If no other planting site is available, the soil should be generously replaced.

The Rose sets beautiful accents together with:
Steppe sage, lavender, clematis.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
