The Cypress oak 'Fastigiata Koster' (Quercus robur) is a columnar, slender tree with decorative, light green, oval fruits. These are small. It produces light green flowers arranged in catkins from April to May. The Cypress oak 'Fastigiata Koster' also bears leathery, egg-shaped, dark green leaves with a medium green colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.

The deciduous leaves of the Cypress oak 'Fastigiata Koster' are dark green, medium green, ovate, leathery, alternate, lobed. They are about 10 - 15 cm in size. Cypress oak 'Fastigiata Koster' is bright orange-yellow in autumn.

Bark

Dark grey, deeply fissured, longitudinally furrowed bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The light green flowers of Cypress oak 'Fastigiata Koster' appear in catkins from April to May.
