The Cockspur thorn (Crataegus crus-galli) is a multi-stemmed, picturesque large shrub with decorative, dark red, round fruits that remain on the tree for a very long time. It produces white flowers arranged in panicles from May to June. The Cockspur thorn also has shiny, leathery, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 7 metres and grows to a width of around 6 metres.

The white flowers of Cockspur thorn appear in panicles from May to June.
