The Common holly 'Golden van Tol' (Ilex aquifolium) is a sprawling, pyramidal large shrub with decorative, red, round fruits that stay on for a very long time. The Common holly 'Golden van Tol' also has glossy, lanceolate, rounded, dark green leaves with a yellow edge. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 4 metres.

Common holly 'Golden van Tol' is a sprawling and pyramidal large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m.

Leaves

High leaf ornamental value. The evergreen leaves of the Common holly 'Golden van Tol' are dark green, lanceolate, roundish, glossy, alternate, toothed and have a yellow margin. They are about 3 - 8 cm in size.

Fruit

The red, round drupes of Ilex aquifolium 'Golden van Tol' are particularly decorative. These appear from September and are very long-lasting.

Ilex aquifolium 'Golden van Tol' is a deep-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.
