Bald cypress (Taxodium distichum)

The bald cypress is an impressive large tree with an elegant, conical growth habit. It usually reaches heights of 30 to 40 meters and a width of about 8 to 10 meters. It grows about 25 to 35 cm in height per year – slowly but steadily.

In spring and summer, the swamp cypress is adorned with delicate, light green, needle-shaped leaves that sit loosely alternately on the branch. In autumn, it transforms into a vibrant display of warm reddish-brown colors – a real highlight in any garden.

Care instructions:

The swamp cypress is ideal as a solitary tree in large gardens, parks, or along the banks of waterways. There it unfolds its full splendor—especially in autumn.Container plants can be planted year-round, except when the ground is frozen or during summer heat (above 86°F).
