Plant of the month December 2025: Wintergreen oak ‘Pseudoturneri’ (Quercus × turneri ‘Pseudoturneri’)

Wintergreen oak ‘Pseudoturneri’ – a structural element with year-round appeal

The evergreen oak ‘Pseudoturneri’ (Quercus × turneri ‘Pseudoturneri’) is a fascinating hybrid of the evergreen holm oak and the native English oak. It combines robustness, ornamental value, and evergreen foliage – an elegant, adaptable small tree for natural or modern garden designs.

Elegant growth & evergreen foliage

This oak grows in a compact, egg-shaped form and reaches a height of around 12 meters with a width of around 9 meters. Its dense, glossy foliage remains largely intact even in winter, providing structure and color during the barren season. The lanceolate, dark green leaves are strikingly elegant and make the tree attractive all year round.
