Zurück zur Natur – die Wildblumenwiese ist ein großer Schritt dahin

More and more garden owners value their green realm being particularly ecologically attractive. Because naturalness brings a lot of joy. Now, the entire structure of the garden doesn't have to disappear, and the well-maintained ornamental plants should, of course, be preserved. But a small piece of untamed nature can certainly find its way in.

There's a wonderful solution for that. A wildflower meadow is easy to create and, once established, requires little work. The only factor that plays a big role is time. Because you do need a little patience, especially if you're transforming part of an existing green space. But even establishing such a colorful area, which freely unfolds with botanical vitality, needs a bit of time until it's in full, natural bloom.

Now it's time for more natural specimens to join them. You can grow them yourself from seeds, preferably for one to two years in a pot. Then, plant them in the green space. A good tip here is to form small groups of the same species. This particularly reflects the plants' original nature and looks not only natural but also appealing. Together with the well-established wildflowers that have grown entirely on their own, a magnificent meadow now emerges, growing denser and more vibrant year by year. It increasingly resembles a painting with the theme "untouched nature," and after three to five years, it's ready for a photo shoot.

The mowing is done once or twice a year. It's best to do this after the blooming period has ended. It makes sense to then leave the meadow undisturbed for three to four days so that the seeds from the mowed plants can settle in the meadow.

If you're creating a meadow completely from scratch, it's best to mix the seeds with sawdust. The soil should be well loosened and not dense or firm. The seeds are then spread as uniformly as possible and then rolled firmly. Do not cover with any soil! The first mowing is then recommended after 2.5 months.

What does this homemade biotope consist of? Delight in medicinal plants like the white-flowering yarrow, the brightly yellow arnica, and the reddish centaury. Enjoy the continuously blooming toadflax in a powerful yellow hue, the meadow bellflower in mystical violet, and the azure blue of the chicory. Very rarely in harmony with very poisonous, you'll find the delicate corncockle and the pretty pheasant's eye.

This is a selection from the lively hustle and bustle in the wildflower meadow, which always appears cheerful, fresh, and free. The individual design and thus the final appeal are now in your hands!
