Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan'

Spring can't be celebrated more beautifully! The days grow lovelier after winter, and it stands in its most magnificent bloom: the Japanese Flowering Cherry 'Kanzan'; it's the most abundant bloomer among the flowering cherries.

The Japanese Flowering Cherry grows in a funnel shape as a tree or a large shrub. Its blooming period is from early to mid-May, with striking, radiant, pink blossoms. In autumn, its leaves turn into a reddish-yellow blaze, an absolute eye-catcher!

The new leaves emerge copper-colored, forming a beautiful symphony of colors with the pink floral dream. The Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan' can reach a width of 500-800 cm (16-26 ft) and a height of 700-1000 cm (23-33 ft). Annually, the tree/shrub grows approximately 30-70 cm (1-2.3 ft), making it a vigorous grower.

The Japanese Flowering Cherry 'Kanzan' is a deep-rooted tree. It thrives in a sunny location and prefers loose garden soil, ideally with a calcareous (lime-rich) content. This makes it easy to care for and also pollution-tolerant.
