Pothos - uncomplicated and beginner-friendly

When moving into your first apartment or simply refreshing your living room, the pothos is a must-have. The plant is not only a marvel of nature, but it is also very low-maintenance.

It requires only a few regular waterings and a dose of fertilizer every two weeks. Even a houseplant needs a little refreshment: if you occasionally mist it with a water sprayer, it will reward you with beautiful foliage.

The Right Location for the Pothos

When you have a pothos in your home, you should carefully consider where it will thrive best. The marbling on the leaves can help with this. The more prominent the marbling, the brighter the spot the pothos should be placed in. In dark corners, its leaves will lose their beautiful patterns. If it is placed in a bright location and its substrate is kept consistently moist, the pothos will grow and thrive excellently. Once the top layer of soil is dry, it should be watered.

The Climbing Beauty

The leaves of the pothos can come in a variety of colors. From natural white to yellow and emerald green, to golden or silver shimmer, it offers almost everything a botanist's heart desires. If the pot with the pothos is placed at the stair landing, you can be sure that within the next few months, it will conquer the railing and climb upwards. This is why it is also one of the most popular climbing plants.

The Pothos as an Air Freshener

One of the not-so-secret talents of the pothos is its ability to absorb pollutants from the surrounding air. This makes it definitely worth getting the easy-care climbing plant. After two to three years, you can also repot it to allow it to further thrive and create an even better indoor climate.
