An azalea in the room beautifies the winter season.

Azaleas are wonderful winter plants. However, there are a few things to consider when keeping an azalea indoors. This beautiful potted flower not only has stunning blossoms but also has specific needs.

Many Shapes and Beautiful Colors

Flowering plants create a pleasant atmosphere, especially in winter. When the world outside is gray, a glance at the beautiful azalea indoors lifts the spirits. Azaleas come in many variations, each more beautiful than the last. The attractive colors range from white to pink to red, and the flower shapes vary from simple to double and from small to large blooms. As attractive as it is, the popular indoor azalea can be quite demanding when it comes to care. However, when everything is done right, it will generously bloom with its exotic flowers!

The Right Conditions for the Azalea

Among the plant roommates, the azalea is the one that needs a lot of water. Its name means "dry," yet it cannot exist without enough water. This plant diva needs to be watered regularly and prefers to stay consistently moist. It prefers lime-free water and is particularly fond of rainwater. The azalea also has clear preferences when it comes to temperature. It feels most comfortable at 18°C. Would it like to stay in a conservatory? It would happily accept. The azalea prefers bright light but should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Are all its wishes met? The reward will be a magnificent display of flowers between November and March.

Beauty with Special Wishes

Anyone who wants to ensure good care for their azalea, whether indoors or in a fresh air area, should know its deepest wishes. Here's a brief summary: from May to September, the potted plant prefers to stay on the terrace or balcony, and from October onwards, it should be indoors. Just before flowering, it can also be placed in a normally heated room, but not directly over a heater. For true flower enthusiasts, and especially for lovers of this fantastic plant, none of this is a problem!
