The Shrub Veronica – An Astonishing Development

The Shrub Veronica is becoming increasingly popular in our gardens. The evergreen shrub is highly decorative due to its lush green leaves.

For anyone who wants color in their garden all year round, a Shrub Veronica is definitely the right choice. Not only do the evergreen leaves of the plant create a vibrant display, but the flowers also provide a colorful experience.

A true master of adaptation

Who would have thought that a plant known for its outdoor garden location would also feel very comfortable indoors? This is quite unusual, but perfectly normal for the Shrub Veronica. It can truly be placed in the garden bed, on the terrace, on the balcony, or even on the other side of the windowsill. With optimal growing conditions and good care, the Shrub Veronica rewards its owner with extraordinary flowers.

The Greek goddess among plants

The Shrub Veronica is also known as Hebe. This name comes from the Greek goddess Hebe, who plays a role in Greek mythology. Hebe is the goddess of youth and the daughter of Zeus and Hera. She was the "cupbearer" of the gods, responsible for supplying them with drinks, offering them nectar and ambrosia. Hebe has the power to grant people a new youth. The connection to the Shrub Veronica lies in the fact that the goddess Hebe represents the bloom of nature and spring. This is reflected in the flowering period of the Shrub Veronica, which begins in April.

Small plant with big ambitions

The Shrub Veronica initially gives a rather reserved impression. The delicate plant may appear inconspicuous at first, but over time, it can grow from an initial height of 15 centimeters to up to 2 meters in the garden. Of course, this varies from variety to variety. After all, there are about 140 different species of Shrub Veronica. Depending on how large the plant should grow in the garden, you can choose a smaller or larger variety.
