Cozy Nooks in the Garden

Pure Relaxation in Your Own Garden

"It usually doesn't take much to feel truly comfortable in your own garden. But with a few tricks, your garden will not only become more beautiful and interesting, but you'll also create the most charming spots to retreat for a reading session, enjoy the garden with all your senses, or simply sunbathe.

Even though every person, just like their garden, is individual and has their own idea of what is cozy and beautiful, there are some basic principles that ensure your garden can boast particularly charming, secluded spots."

Creating Rooms in the Garden

"Not only small gardens benefit from good planning, but large gardens also gain more stability and character by literally designing individual rooms and areas. These should not be visible, but also invite playful and curious personalities to be discovered. You can achieve this, for example, by having the entrance point away from the main sightline and by creating defining walls and screens.

In a small garden, these should be delicate and thin, but in a large garden, they can also consist of hedges, bushes, or a small building.

Thus, if space is limited, you can gladly use room dividers, trellises, and rose arches to create garden rooms and cozy nooks. But also half-height hedges, planters, raised beds, and much more can convey protection and security and elevate a corner to a favorite spot."

Utilizing and Enhancing Existing Structures

Is there already one or more corners in your garden, even if they haven't exactly been the garden's pride so far? Then make something out of them. Don't be afraid to remove or transplant a conifer that has become unsightly. And even a drastic cut can greatly change the appearance of a tree and create space where there seemingly was none before. A freely cut trunk has room for a welcoming beautiful bench around it, and suddenly you're sitting in a cozy, shady spot in the garden that you can decorate to your heart's content. A few nice cushions, hanging pots with flowering perennials, a colorful wind chime, and a table fountain in a beautifully planted bowl create a completely new world with little effort.
