The salvation for old stone walls

Your garden beautifully all around

How beautiful it is when your own garden is harmonious and beautiful all around. Everything is blooming and green, your garden furniture fits elegantly into the overall picture, and the paths and seating areas complete the whole in a pleasing way. If only it weren't for the old, unsightly wall.

Unfortunately, not every old wall is picturesque, and such a structure can become a serious visual problem.

Therefore, many garden enthusiasts resort to trowel and level and build a false wall in front of the eyesore. This can range from a brick wall to a natural stone wall or even a dry stone wall, and it is the most permanent, though certainly the most expensive, solution.

Quick help is needed

For enthusiasts of open fireplaces and fire pits, such a wall can also be quite useful to stack firewood in a decorative way. A simple roof structure protects the wood from excessive rain.

To enhance the decorative aspect of the stacked firewood, you can craft beautiful frames. These divide the area into uniform geometric sections. This not only makes the wood look more beautiful but also allows it to be stacked much higher. By filling each individual frame with a single type of wood, you create a color tone in each section, which looks particularly elegant.

Nature helps

Some walls can also become much more attractive with a beautiful plaster or coat of paint. And with a flower bed in front, from which beautiful solitary plants, perennials, or a hedge grow, their dominant impression is greatly softened. Upon request, even the entire wall can disappear behind the lush plants in a few years.

Climbing plants, especially annuals, can also provide a lovely green and blooming privacy screen. If the growing conditions for the plants are good, fire beans, clematis, passion flowers, climbing roses, kiwis, and many other climbers require little care and look truly magnificent.

A woven willow or hazel fence is also an attractive and, above all, living solution.

Privacy screens, which can be designed as arches, walking paths, or pavilions, can already provide an interesting alternative to ordinary hedges and other plantings from the very first year.

Even screens and mats made from all kinds of materials can be quickly and easily placed in front of an unsightly wall. Tenants often opt for this cost-effective and ultra-fast solution.
