The Granny´s bonnet (Aquilegia vulgaris) is an upright perennial that forms dark blue, purple, pink or white, bell-shaped flowers from May to June. Its lobed leaves are blue-green in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Granny´s bonnet is well tolerant of frost.
