The Alpine columbine (Aquilegia alpina) is an upright, clump-forming, loose perennial that produces blue, bell-shaped flowers from May to June. Its pinnate leaves are medium green. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and is approx. 20 cm wide. The Alpine columbine is well tolerant of frost.
