The Alpine strawberry 'Rügen' (Fragaria vesca) is a runner-forming, creeping, winter-green perennial that forms white, cup-shaped flowers from April to October. Its pinnate, toothed leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 20 cm and grows to approx. 1 m wide. The Alpine strawberry 'Rügen' is well tolerant of frost.
