The Mountain madwort 'Berggold' (Alyssum montanum) is a cushion-forming, winter-green perennial that produces pale yellow flowers arranged in clusters from April to May. Its lanceolate leaves are grey-green. In a sunny location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 20 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Mountain madwort 'Berggold' is well tolerant of frost.

Care

- If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
- Rock garden plants love loose, well-drained soil. However, as this substrate stores little water, the plants must be watered regularly for several weeks after planting, especially in dry conditions, until they are sufficiently rooted.
- The plant must be protected from winter moisture.
