The Creeping gromwell (Buglossoides purpurocaerulea) is a runner-forming, flat perennial that forms blue, cup-shaped flowers from May to June. Its lanceolate leaves are medium green. In a sunny to shady location with well-drained, calcareous, dry soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 30 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Creeping gromwell is well tolerant of frost.
