The Purple clematis 'Prince Charles' (Clematis viticella) is a climbing deciduous small shrub that produces blue, bell-shaped flowers. They appear from June to September. The Purple clematis 'Prince Charles' also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to a width of around 3.5 metres.
